Walk, Run, & Wag 5K FAQ's
If I can't make it to the event or live too far, can I be a "virtual walker"?
Yes! If you can't physically attend in person, you can sign up to be a "virtual walker" so that you can still get involved, show support, and raise money for this important cause. You can also just make a donation if you are unable participate.
Can I create a team?
You can absolutely create a team! Want to get some extra points with your boss at your job? Why not get a team together and bond with your co-workers?! Since each dog costs $8,000 to get fully ready for placement, you can make it a team goal to raise partial or full sponsorship of a dog. There is a minimum of two people per team. We'll even name a Hearing Dog any name of your choice (given that it is appropriate) if you raise enough money for a partial or full sponsorship for a Hearing Dog.
Do I get anything with my registration fee?
Your registration fee comes with a t-shirt, race bibs, and dog bandana for your pooch when you sign in on race day. There will also be several fun vendors at the event with free goodies for the whole family!
Do I have to run with a dog?
Of course not! We know not every dog likes to run and not everyone has a dog. With or without a dog, come out and join the race. We also have vendors of all kinds at the event, so you can feel free to mingle rather than run if you'd like.
Is the race professionally timed?
Yes. Our race is timed by 3W Races with great results.
How many dogs can run with me?
As many as you feel that you can handle. Remember: safety is our number one priority. If you can’t safely run with multiple dogs, leave them at home. Also, please have all dogs on leash and ensure that they have current vaccinations.
