International Hearing Dog, Inc's missionĀ is to empower individuals who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing by purposefully training specially selected dogs to alert to sounds, carefully matching these dogs with handlers who are d/Deaf and hard of hearing; and supporting the paired teams throughout the lifetime of the match.

IHDI has much cause for celebration in July. Janice and Hearing Dog Phoenix became IHDI's first pairing to embark on the Partner Trained model to much success, and Sue and Hearing Dog Artie passed their recertification. We celebrate both of these teams for their tremendous accomplishments! We're also sharing how you can support IHDI's work by donating your car, ordering a pizza, fulfilling items on our hearing dogs in training wishlist, or helping spread the word to find Tulok a new home.

Janice and Phoenix are the first IHDI pairing to embark under our Partner Trained model. In this model, IHDI trainers work two to four times a week in-person to support the team as they work over a number of months on obedience training and sound alerts.
